All inclusive resort for fishing, family, cooperate and adventure holidays

The Batnuni area was made famous by Rich Hobsons books and sequels most famously ‘Grass Beyond the Mountains’ a true story of two young cowboys Rich and Pan Phillips, who tried to create a wilderness cattle empire in the Batnuni and Blackwater River area.

It is a land rich in the history of the Nuxalk-Carrier peoples, the same peoples that showed Alexander Mackenzie the way to the Pacific Coast. After them came the cowboys and the homesteaders that also made a living off of the Batnuni and Blackwater River lands.

Your Hosts

The owners as well as your hosts of Batnuni Lake Resort, Richard and Shari have a long history in wilderness living and the hospitality industry. They have plied their trades from central BC to the far reaches of the Yukon.

Shari as a chef and hostess, in some of the most prestigious establishments in the country as well as the most primitive isolated wilderness camps, creates gourmet meals in a cheery home style atmosphere.

Richard guide, trapper, bush pilot and jack of all trades, grew up and lived in remote parts of Canada all his life. Making do with what he has and doing it himself is a normal routine for him.
